OK groovers. Here it is. One of the most anticpated TV series for 2016. VINYL is everything and more. Oh...you don't have Foxtel? Wait till it come out on DVD and enjoy it in its entirety.
If you love the music of the early 70's you'll love this series. Originally suggested to famed film director Martin Scorsese by Mick Jagger 20 years ago, the decision to take it from a film format to a TV series will pay dividends as characters, and musical genres, will certainly develop over a number of seasons.
Its debut episode features the New York Dolls performing 'Personality Crisis' in a run down Arts school in New York. While in London David Bowie was on stage as Ziggy Stardust. Rock music was hanging in the balance in 1973 and it was a chosen few who cut their way to the 'mother lode' of rock immortality.
'Vinyl' the TV series is more than drug taking record executives and bands who liked wearing eye make up. Vinyl is a celebration of what was wrong in the world in the 70's and how a bunch of no-hopers with guitars reflected their life on the streets under coloured spotlights on stage.
Don't miss it.
Expressed from the US Monday arvo's on FOXTEL. 2pm Darwin time.
Cheers...Greg
