The Walking Dead recap

the walking dead

While humans often comprise some of the most dangerous threats faced by Rick Grimes’ group of survivors on The Walking Dead, that does not discount the fact that the walkers have always remained a constant, vigilant threat to the lives of everyone on the show. With the show about to start its 6th Season, the AMC horror series has promised to deliver some of its strangest zombie encounters yet.

Here's what Norman Reedus has to say about the weirdest zombie we'll see in Season 6: There’s a creepy humour flavour that he sort of throws in there sometimes, and he’s the only one that understands it or knows what he’s going for. There are super beautiful elements to his zombies, but sometimes there’s a little something funny in there that just he knows and nobody else knows — or major comic-book fans or major zombie fans. There’s one particularly beautiful, gruesome zombie — he’s got a lot of green moss on him.?

Greg Nicotero plans to up the ante in terms of creating memorable walkers on Season 6 of The Walking Dead, noting that green moss will be a key to one wild-looking zombie. Green moss may not sound like much, but The Walking Dead has done an incredible job of taking minor details about walkers and fleshing them – pun wholeheartedly intended – out with gruesome effect. Considering the well walker from Season 2, or the riot gear walkers from Season 3, the promise of seeing such an interesting zombie seems like a tall order.

As if we weren’t already excited about the sixth season of The Walking Dead, this tease has certainly been enough to wet our appetites. Season 6 of The Walking Dead premieres on Monday, October 12 on FOXTEL.

Here a catch up of season 5.   Enjoy…..Greg

Many women with ovarian cancer have expressed their desire to speak with other women with an ovarian cancer diagnosis.

According to Ovarian Cancer Australia CEO Jane Hill, who spoke to Greg and Ali on Wake Up, it is not always possible to make these connections due to location and the effects from treatments. Fortunately, Ovarian Cancer Australia is launching a tool to help make these connections easier.

Ovarian Cancer Australia Connect will give women the chance to join an online community to discuss topics of interest, seek advice and just chat through the use of message boards.

Axl Rose wants to continue to be AC/DC singer after current tour

Axl, 54, was drafted in earlier this year as a replacement for the AC/DC 's usual lead singer Brian Johnson, who was forced to bow out of their Rock or Bust World Tour due to hearing problems.

His hiring in place of Brian has proved controversial with AC/DC fans, and he has been forced to perform from a specially designed throne after breaking his foot while playing with his reunited band Guns N' Roses last month

Despite Axl's injury troubles and future commitments with his old band, AC/DC guitarist Angus Young says the singer is keen to continue as the group's frontman after their current tour ends in June.

"I know he's very excited," Angus tells Germany's NDR radio station. "He keeps saying can he do more? But we don't really know at the end how we will (proceed). But we wanna get (through) this tour, which we were committed to doing. We wanna (sic) finish it."

The remaining members of AC/DC came in for heavy criticism after it was announced last month that Axl would be joining them on tour.

One prominent critic was The Who's legendary frontman Roger Daltrey, who told the London Free Press, "Go and see karaoke with Axl Rose? Give me a break. I really feel badly for Brian. It must be heartbreaking for him after all the service he's given that band over the years. I've spoken to Brian. He's got loads of other things he wants to do in his life. I think AC/DC will miss Brian much more than Brian will miss AC/DC. There you go."

After leaving the band's tour, Johnson released a statement describing himself as "personally crushed" at having to quit playing live shows due to the risk of losing his hearing completely, but vowed to return after treatment.

Reviews for the Axl fronted version of AC/DC have on the whole been positive, and the band's bassist Cliff Williams is full of praise for his new bandmate.

"Axl has done a fabulous job, and he's almost out of his chair now," he tells NDR. "He's mobile, and he's enjoying himself. It's been really good."

Angus believes that as his health improves, the singer is improving all the time, adding, "His leg's repairing, so each show we've been doing he's been getting up and moving around a lot more."

AC/DC's next tour date with Axl is on Sunday at the Stade de Suisse in Bern, Switzerland, while the Welcome to the Jungle singer will reunite with Guns N' Roses on 23 June in Detroit, Michigan for the first of a series of U.S. stadium gigs.

This is awesome. Check out George Miller's blockbuster hit from 2015, Mad Max: Fury Road. The attention to detail paid to the various rigs and characters (the silver paint around the War Boys mouths, for example) is pretty extraordinary. They even managed to find everyone's favorite guitar shredding baddie some screen time in the video.

Enjoy this gamers.

Bono joins Springsteen on stage in Dublin

Bruce Springsteen gave fans in Dublin a night to remember by inviting hometown hero Bono to join him at his concert on Sunday.

The Born to Run star played his second of two shows at Croke Park in Ireland on Sunday, and the over 80,000 fans in the stadium went wild when the U2 frontman joined Bruce on stage.

The two then sang a rendition of the American rocker's hit Because the Night, a song he wrote with another veteran musician, Patti Smith.

Bono wasn't the only U2 member in attendance - his bandmates The Edge and Larry Mullen were also on hand, but did not join their lead singer for the surprise performance.

Bruce first played Croke Park on Friday, and during his day off on Saturday, the Boss was spotted at a local bowling alley, while he also enjoyed a few pints at pubs in the area.

He continues his European leg of The River tour on Wednesday in Glasgow, Scotland.

BREAST CHECK…Our friendly reminder to you, on the first of every month.

slide-breastcheck-ali-new.png

Hi Ali from Mix1049, here.

Every first of the month I will be popping up at various times across the radio station to talk about breasts.

While this might get the guys’ attention, this is all about the girls.

Regardless of your age, it’s important to know the normal look and feel of your breasts so each first of the month I’m here to remind you to self-check.

It only takes 2 minutes and you can do it anywhere.

If you find a lump, schedule an appointment with your doctor, but don't panic — 8 out of 10 lumps are not cancerous.

It’s also recommend you have a mammogram every 2 years after you hit 40.

The monthly breast check is our friendly reminder to you, on the first of every month to take your health in to your own hands and self-check.

Head to the McGrath Foundation website below to find a National Breast Care Nurse in your area as well as plenty of breast care-related advice.

DAAS

Death. Sex. Horror.

The ingredients for a great night of comedy!

After their 100% sellout world-tour, the Doug Anthony All-Stars [D.A.A.S] are back.

Paul McDermott, Paul ‘Flacco’ Livingston & Tim Ferguson make a triumphant return to Darwin with a shocking new show.

With their trademark bombardment of songs, sex, violence, sex, feminism (and sex), DAAS revolutionized comedy in the ‘80s & ‘90s like no act before or since.Starring on ABCs “Big Gig” and their very own “DAAS Kapital” , they then took to the International stage taking the UK, Europe and the USA by storm. The “Dougs” were the first rockstars of the world comedy circuit. In 1994 when they threw in the towel, it stuck to the wall

Since their rebirth in 2013, DAAS have broken box-office records.

Their musical comedy is more wicked and dangerous than ever. Wracked by illness and age, the trio has no time to waste.

Speaking from Prague, Paul McDermott said, ‘Death approaches. We have nothing to lose.’

The pressures of touring are intense: Livingston is ‘on the spectrum’. Ferguson is wheelchair-bound with MS. McDermott is his primary carer.

You can imagine.

Be unnerved. Be mildly unnerved
